Disco Inferno

Original songwriter: L. Green, R. Kersey

To mass fires, yes one hundred stories high

People gettin' loose y'all gettin' down on the roof do you

The folks are flaming out of control

It was so entertainin' when the boogie started to explode

I heard somebody say

Disco inferno

Burn that mama down

Disco inferno

Burn that mama down

Satisfaction came in the chain reaction

I couldn't get enough till I had to self-destroy

Heat was on rising to the top, huh

Everybody's goin' strong that is when my spark got hot

I heard somebody say

Disco inferno

Burn that mama down, yoh

Disco inferno

Burn that mama down

I hear music

Satisfaction came in a chain reaction let me hear

I couldn't get enough so I had to self destruct, huh

The heat was on rising to the top, uh

Everybody's goin' strong that is when my spark got hot

I heard somebody say

Disco inferno

Burn that mama down, yoh

Disco inferno

Burn that mama down

Disco inferno

Burn that mama down, yoh

Disco inferno

Burn that mama down

Artist Information

Disco's most soulful vocal group began in 1960s Philadelphia as The Volcanos, and were also called The Moods. Gene Faith was the original lead vocalist, with Earl Young, Jimmy Ellis, guitarist Dennis Harris, keyboardist Ron Kersey, organist John Hart, bassist Stanley Wade, and drummer Michael Thomas. But by the time they'd gone through various identities and emerged as the Trammps in the mid-1970's, the lineup featured lead vocalist Ellis, Harold Wade and Stanley Wade, Robert Upchurch, and Young.
